How to use Routine Sequencer
Real app screens, fictional routine examples. Synthetic Evelyn Multilingual narration.
One step at a time
Welcome to Routine Sequencer. It gives someone a clear picture of what comes next, with colourful activity tiles, optional spoken prompts and timers. Start with a familiar routine, then change only what needs to fit the person.
Prepare the routine
Open Setup to prepare the routine. On your first visit, create a six digit PIN and keep the recovery code somewhere private. The PIN helps keep the setup separate from the everyday view. It is not encryption or a replacement for your device lock.
Start with something ready-made
Choose Ready made library. There are twelve starter routines and sixty individual picture tiles. Preview a starter, untick any steps you do not need, then choose Add this routine. Here, we are leaving out packing a bag. The remaining steps keep their sequence.
Make each step familiar
In Routine builder, select a step to change its title or spoken instruction. You can choose another library picture, add your own permitted photo, or use a familiar voice recording. Check the pictures together. If someone does not recognise a picture, try a familiar photo instead.
Choose the time that fits
Timers are optional. Brush teeth starts with two minutes. Change the hours, minutes and seconds for other activities, such as television or arts and crafts. Save changes when you are ready. Then choose Use this routine and confirm a fresh start. Editing a saved template does not change the routine already open.
Look, listen and choose
Choose Lock setup and hand over. In One step, the person sees the current activity. Listen plays the prompt. Done moves on when the next step is ready. Later sets an activity aside. I need help records that choice, but does not send a message or call anyone. Undo lets the person change their last choice.
Start the timer when ready
Press Start timer when the activity begins. The countdown and dial show the time left. Pause timer holds the remaining time. When the timer finishes, the person still chooses Done or another action. Keep the app open for the end sound. It is not a locked screen alarm.
Choose the view and colours
My day shows the routine together. Home display offers a larger shared view for a tablet. Use Colours to choose Bright and playful, Bold contrast, or Plain and calm. Still patterns can be switched off. Choose the look that works for the person.
Take the routine with you
To prepare on a computer and use another device, open Transfer and backup. Download a routine transfer and move it privately to the phone or tablet. Open the same app there, open Setup, and import the file after reviewing it. Devices do not sync automatically. Keep a full backup after important changes. You are ready to start with a few familiar steps and build from there.
