What stays on this device
Saved records and settings are held in IndexedDB, in database betty-choicepath-v1. Display preferences use two app-prefixed localStorage keys. App files are cached by a service worker so the installed app can run offline. There is no account, analytics, tracking pixel, cloud storage or application server receiving records.
Opening a hosted copy requests app files from the host. The host may keep ordinary access logs such as IP addresses and request times. Hosting privacy terms must describe that separately. Following a source or store link deliberately opens that external site.
Pictures are decoded and compressed in your browser before storage. Original files are not uploaded. Optional Read aloud uses the browser SpeechSynthesis service only after you press it. Depending on your device and selected voice, that service may use the network. Use a downloaded on-device voice for sensitive content or offline speech, or use a trusted screen reader.
Your responsibilities
Anyone who can use this browser profile may access the records. Local storage, backups and exported PDFs/CSVs are not encrypted. Lock the device, choose appropriate access controls, use only necessary information and store exports privately. A shared computer may be unsuitable for sensitive records.
Browser storage can be removed when you clear site data, use private browsing, reset a device, or encounter storage pressure. Installation is not a backup. Download a JSON backup regularly and test restore on a separate browser profile. A different website origin, browser profile or device has a separate workspace. Full-app paths on the same origin share the product database. The demo uses a separate database.
Delete and restore
Backup / Restore contains Delete all local data. It clears this app's saved records and settings after confirmation. It does not delete downloaded backups, reports, original photos or the other Betty app. Delete exports separately. App shell caches may remain so the app continues to work offline; clearing site data in browser settings also removes those cached assets.
Restore replaces current saved records and settings after confirmation. Backups must match this product and schema version 1 and must be under 50 MB. Keep a backup before restoring. Files are parsed as data and never executed.
